1. What is the IMU CET exam, and why is it important?

IMU CET (Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test) is a mandatory, all-India entrance examination. It is required for admission into DG Shipping-approved maritime programs such as DNS, B.Sc Nautical Science, and B.Tech Marine Engineering. Clearing this exam is your first mandatory step toward joining the Merchant Navy.

2. What does "Sponsorship" mean, and do you help with it?

Sponsorship means that a reputed, DG Shipping-approved shipping company guarantees you an onboard placement (job) before you even start your maritime college training. Yes, a major part of our program focuses on preparing you for these highly competitive company sponsorship exams, psychometric tests, and interviews.

3. What are the academic eligibility criteria for IMU CET?

Generally, candidates must have passed their 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM). You need a minimum aggregate of 60% in PCM and at least 50% marks in English in either your 10th or 12th standard board exams.

4. Are there strict medical and vision requirements?

Yes. The Merchant Navy has strict fitness standards set by DG Shipping. Candidates must be physically fit. For deck cadets (DNS/B.Sc), 6/6 vision in both eyes without glasses is usually required. Engine cadets (B.Tech) have slight relaxations for glasses, but color blindness is strictly not allowed for any role. We provide guidance on medical pre-screening before you enroll.
